MY LIFE JOURNEY

Dr. Mathias Stockinger

A LIFE FOR GOD

ALTHOUGH I WAS BORN AN RAISED CATHOLIC, MY RELIGIOUS UNDERSTANDING EVOLVED, SEEING THE RELIGIONS OF THE WORLD AS A PUZZLE, ENABLING TRIANGULATION OF WHAT GOD AND RELIGION REALLY IS - BY STUDYING DIFFERENT RELIGIONS AND RELIGIOUS LEADERS AROUND THE WORLD - I FORMED A META-UNDERSTANDING OF RELIGION AND IN THE BROADER SENSE IDEOLOGIES AROUND THE WORLD - JUDGING THEM "BY THEIR FRUIT" (THEIR REAL LIFE EFFECTS). STUDYING AND RESEARCHING IDEOLOGIES AND THEIR IMPACT ON LIFE!

By overcoming the life crises God has given me, I have reached the bottom of the sea and rebuilt myself from the ground up, as such I became an island of peace in a tumultous sea.

When I was 14 years old, like many teenagers, I felt shipwrecked in a turbulent sea, smashed around by the waves of adolescence.
I lived through my first life crisis - although I shortly contemplated suicide, as soon as I took stock of my life, I realized that I had the best starting conditions to succeed in this world. Even if I thought I had no more use for my life - God could use my body to write in the book of this world. I decided to keep my body alive.

I sacrificed my life to God, not in dying, but in living.

This decision echoes in the symbol of baptism:

"Baptism means to die for the world - but to live for God."

-Bible Romans 6:4

So like a stone, I sank to the bottom of the sea, without doing anything.

"Who wants to build a big tower, first has to dig a deep hole."

-religions teacher

"If you're falling into a bottomless pit - you have endless time to learn to fly."

-Myself

"Also of the suffering you have to proof yourself worthy."

-Viktor Frankl

"When you take the leap of faith,
know...
that...
who leans on
his faith,doesn't fall."

-grandmother

In God I have put my trust; I will not fear.

- Bible Psalm 56:4

REVELATION

The things you would die for,
are the things you should live for.

  • When finished proceed to next step

Write on a piece of paper:

"10 things I would live for?"

     ● think for 5 minutes about the assignment
     ● write them down in order of importance to you

  •  ● think for 5 minutes about the assignment
     ● write them down in order of importance to you

"10 things I would die for?"

Write on a piece of paper:

When finished proceed to next step

  • When finished proceed to next step

If you are in a GROUP, collect and sort together on the board:

"Let's collect and sort list items!"

    ● collect and sort according to the frequency
    ● take 10-15 minutes for that assignment

  • When finished proceed to next step

Stick categories to the items on the blackboard together:

    "Is this materialistic
     or idealistic?"

     ● stick to every item one of the 2 categories
     ● take 10-15 minutes for that assignment

  • Examine together:

Realise what you would live for:

     ● most choose materialistic things
    ● like: money, sex, food, car, . . .

    Did you have a revelation?

  • Examine together:

Realise what you would die for:

     ● most choose idealistic things
     ● like: saving someones life, love, world peace, . . .

    Did you have a revelation?

  • Decide:

    What SHOULD you live for?

    Did you have a revelation?

PERSISTENCE

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On!' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

- Calvin Coolidge
30th president of the United States

DETERMINATION

“The brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want it badly enough. They’re there to stop the other people.”
